National Returning Citizens Conference

April 28, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm CDT

The third annual National Returning Citizens Conference (NRCC 2023) in recognition of National Second Chance Awareness Month is sponsored by the 400 Years of African American History Federal Commission, Faith and Justice Advisory Committee and supported by a host of reentry partners across the country, NRCC 2023 is a day of celebration, information sharing, and plenary sessions designed to inform, build coalition, and create awareness of the issues related to reentry that disproportionately impacts the health and safety of African American communities and communities of color, an urgent priority for our entire nation.

The conference is dedicated to addressing the issues and challenges faced by justice-involved members of society during their transition from incarceration to fully-reinstated citizenship. The conference format includes a ‘main stage’ where keynote address and special presentations will take place, and smaller rooms for breakout sessions lead by panels of experts, including returning citizens, intended to clearly define key issues and discuss community-based solutions to the biggest challenges faced by returning citizens.

This year’s conference is hosted by the Texas Offender Reentry Initiative (TORI) and is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 28, 2023, 9AM to 3PM CST at The Potter’s House, Forth Worth, TX.
